Sarah Bolton: Sarah is from Boolarra in South Gippsland where her family has a small scale beef enterprise. She is currently in the second year of a Bachelor of Veterinary Science degree at Melbourne University. Sarah plans to pursue a career as a vet in a large animal practice. Sarah is also a keen horse woman who conducts riding lessons and provides a re-training service in her spare time.
Thomas Botterill: Thomas originates from a grazing property at Digby in Western Victoria and is currently in his second year of a double degree Bachelor of Agricultural Science/Bachelor of Business at La Trobe University. After completing his studies, Thomas would like to visit some international agricultural systems before returning to work in Victoria as an agricultural consultant. Thomas also has a strong involvement in hockey as both a coach and umpire.
Ryan Clifton: Ryan is in his second year of a Bachelor of Environmental Science degree at Deakin University, Warrnambool, specialising in freshwater biology and management. Ryan is from a farming property near Corowa and his family is passionate about natural resource management. He is keen to develop an aquaculture business producing Murray Cod. Ryan is an active member of the local CFA and in 2006 walked the Kokoda Track.
Virginia Commins: Virginia is in the second year of a Bachelor of Commerce degree at Melbourne University and plans to undertake some post graduate studies in agriculture before looking for employment in the livestock industry. Virginia has a strong attachment to the family grazing property at Ensay and spends her summers working for DSE fire crews undertaking back-burning and clearing operations.
Matthew Glennen: Matthew comes from Dixie, near Terang, where his family operates a 500 cow dairy herd. Matthew is undertaking a Bachelor of Business (Farm Management) at Marcus Oldham College. He is currently doing industry placement for the year with Warrnambool Cheese and Butter working as a field officer. Matthew plans to work as a consultant to dairy farmers after completing his studies. Matthew is involved with the Kolora-Noorat Football/Netball Club as a player and volunteer and is an active member of Terang Dixie Rural Fire Brigade.
Markus Lang: Markus is in his second year of a Bachelor of Agricultural Science degree at La Trobe University. He is from a dairy farm at Tatura where the family milk 1,200 cows. Markus has a keen interest in pasture agronomy and dairy nutrition, and would like to work in this field before returning to the family business. Markus is a Board member for the La Trobe Agricultural Society and is currently a mentor to younger students at Menzies College. He also has an active involvement with the Murchison Football Club. |
