This program ceased on 30 June 2010 for new applications. An applicant who has received in principle approval to their farm improvement proposal has until 31 August 2010 to complete on-farm works and lodge relevant invoices to receive payment of the grant.
These grants are aimed at stimulating useful investment in farm business improvements that support drought-affected farmers.
Grants are available to implement farm business improvements for eligible farm business whose owners have received an Exceptional Circumstances Relief Payment (ECRP) from Centrelink between 22 October 2009 and 30 June 2010, as follows:
Grant One: Northern Region ECRP Irrigators:
- The grant will fund two-thirds (i.e. $2 for $1) of the total cost, up to a maximum grant of $2,000 per eligible farm business.
Grant Two: All other farm businesses receiving ECRP:
- The grant will fund half (i.e. $1 for $1) the total cost, up to a maximum grant of $1,000 per eligible farm business.
