2016 Australian Dairy Update

report cover

The Ag Answers Australian Dairy Update reports that Australia’s dairy sector is gradually showing some positive signs following a challenging period.

The Global Dairy Trade Index has reached its highest point in almost two years, skim milk powder has fetched its highest average price since April 2015, and cheese prices have followed suit. However, the recovery of the sector is proving to be a slow one – national milk production and supply are both down and dairy exports are also in decline.

The Australian Dairy Update provides producers and industry with a concise quarterly analysis of trends impacting the Australian dairy sector, including rainfall, price, production and global and domestic demand, and identifies potential opportunities in the year ahead.
